  • They played great defense.  They press, hustle and made 3pts when needed.

maganda yung press nila after a timeout, nahihirapan yung kalaban magbaba

Kudos to Blatche, for a NBA type of game.

  • ^ disagree,

Gilas + ABlatche should play as an independent team.

You just cannot insert a player right away.

  • Retain the current line-up, only add one player, change or reserve spot for JC or any bigs that can play 2 or 3. No to adding/changing 2 or 3 players. Retain Aguilar, Erram and Rosario. Castro and Barroca should stay, Lee and Pogoy should stay, Lassiter and Norwood should stay and most definitely Fajardo and Blatche should stay. For others who keeps on posting line-ups, Huwag sasama ang loob! Chemistry is one of the hardest thing to build in a team.

  • An exhibition game against Team USA will be not just be a dream come true for the players but a learning experience as well. Yung tipong seryosohin ng U.S ang Pilipinas not just a sponsored NBA selection team playing against us.

An exhibition game against African/Euro team will be a great test for the team. Like playing against Spain or any African/Euro team that is part of the World Cup.

  • I hope they bring the best line-up possible in China.

The best line-up is already on paper, no need for changes. It's just a matter of chemistry and physics.

I agree, the team is already good, chemistry nalang talaga, dahil ito ang pinakamahirap na i achieve..

The SBP has firmed up its organizational structure by putting people in charge of certain functions.

Jong runs the coaches' development, Yeng handles the MBT, Magsanoc takes care of 3x3, and Tab looms to handle the youth cadet program...

    TheBlur17 is actually correct.

The intiial basis for qualifying in the 12-team Olympiad is through the FIBA World Cup. The top 2 teams from FIBA Americas and FIBA Europe, along with the top team from Asia, Oceania and Africa, plus host Japan, will automatically get the first 8 slots. If the PHL ends up the top Asian team in the WC, then we automatically qualify for the Olympics.

If we don't make it as the top Asian team, we still have a chance, but the road isn't going to be easy. The next 16 best classified teams in the WC will join the top 2 selected teams per region to form a 24-team pool. These 24 teams will be divided into 4 tournaments of 6 teams each. The winner of each tournament will join the 8 teams already previously qualified.

Limited slots for the Olympics but the best chance for us to be there for the first time since 1972 is to be the top Asian team in the WC. As Blur accurately cited, we don't have to worry about Australia and New Zealand as they will be classified separately as part of Oceania and not Asia.

China will obviously be favoured since they are hosting the WC. JPN doesn't have to worry anymore as they are already seeded in the Olympics.

Win/loss record?

So wala na rin fiba Asia championship(Olympic qualifier) gaya Nung 2015?

Based on team standings. May classification round sa WC kaya malalaman kung sino ang 9th to 12th place, 13th to 16th, 17th to 20th, and so on.

I don't know the basis in selecting these two teams that will play in the 24-team tournament quailfiers for the final 4 slots.

2007 fiba Asia (Tokushima) = 2008 Beijing Olympics
    2011 fiba Asia (wuhan)= 2012 London olympics
2015 fiba Asia (Changsha )= 2016 rio olympics

sa 2020 Tokyo olympics wala?  2019 fiba Asia Olympic qualifier dapat yan..
  • So hindi pala natin kontrolado ang pasok sa Olympic since hindi naman puro asian teams ang makakalaban natin sa world cup. What if ang maka bracket natin ay power houses like USA or Euro teams, malamang sa malamang di tayo maka isa dyan, and if ang maka bracket ng ibang asian teams like Sokor or Jordan ay mahihinang teams from africa, malamang sila ang magkakaroon ng magandang record sa world cup.
